Market Stall Campaign Day
by David on 28 Jan 2008
On Saturday 2nd Feb, the Association is running a market stall in town from 11am to 2pm. If you can attend at any point during the day, even if only for half an hour or so, please email me on chair@exec.lancastercf.com. We will be meeting at HMV in the square and the market stall will be in that area but if you have any problems finding us I will be available on my mobile all day. There are some important issues locally at the moment so it is a very good opportunity for us to engage with the public on a busy Saturday.
Shadow Attorney General Visit
by David on 28 Jan 2008
Dominic Grieve, Member of Parliament, Shadow Attorney General and barrister, will be visiting the University on Friday 1st February at 5pm. He will be giving a talk and question and answer session in Furness Lecture Theatre 1. The talk will be particularly of interest to those with an interest in civil liberties and health and safety law; he has been a crucial figure in leading opposition in the House of Commons to Government proposals to detain terror suspects for 90 days without trial and plans to introduce ID cards, whilst at the Bar, he has made a name for himself as a health and safety lawyer. The talk is hosted by Lancaster Conservative Future, however, all law school staff and students are also welcome to attend.
