SOCIAL ACTION CAMPAIGN
by Nick on 10 Mar 2008
SOCIAL ACTION CAMPAIGN
This Saturday CF will be doing its bit for the local community. The exec has been working with Lancaster homeless Action to organise a clothing campaign on campus. More about this will follow.
However this Saturday (15th) we will be going down to the centre to help the volunteers who run the project clean and tidy up. For many of you I hope it will be a welcome break from deadlines and the pressure of work.
It would be excellent if we can have as many willing volunteers as possible to give a good impression of our branch. We won’t be looking for much of your time, just a couple of hours in the morning to really make a difference.
We will be meeting at 9.30 at the underpass on Saturday morning , I am aware this is early but at least when you go to bed in the evening you can go with the knowledge that you have done a good deed for the day.
If you are willing to give over some of your time this Saturday and support our campaign then please email me ASAP on:
n.vose@lancs.ac.uk
Many Thanks,
Nick

Week 8 Social
by Vicky on 29 Feb 2008
We haven’t all got together for a while so next Tuesday (week 8) we’re just going to meet up for a night of drinking and chatting. It’ll start on campus for a few drinks, move to town for a few more and then maybe a night out if people are up for it. If you’re already out then come and find us at any time - just call or text me on 07751244097. Feel free to bring any friends, and you can leave at any time if you’ve already got plans. We’re meeting at 8pm in Pendle and if you think you’re likely to come can you email me on vixroberts@hotmail.com or text on the number above. (I just want to get an idea of numbers because if everyone’s busy doing essays / dissertations then we can hold it off for another week.)
Hope to see you there,
Vicky,
Social Secretary
Rock for National CF Chair
by David on 13 Feb 2008
The Lancaster Conservative Future Exec. has decided to officially endorse Michael Rock as its candidate of choice for National Chairman of Conservative Future.
It is vitally important we have an active and professional organisation at the time of the next election, and I believe Michael Rock can deliver this.
Michael wants to restore the Conservatism in Conservative Future. He will do so through core conservative principles: taking a professional, business-like approach to running our organisation, decentralising power and promoting a broader coalition of conservative-minded people.
Michael’s main proposals focus on invigorating and expanding CF, by building up support and influence from the base upwards. He will break the stranglehold of the NME: too much power rests in too few hands. Ordinary CF members who do the real work, on the ground - should decide how CF is run EVERY day, not just once a year.
Michael has travelled all over the country, speaking to and meeting members, including a visit to Lancaster CF, discussing their concerns, plans and ideas. This dialogue will continue for the rest of the campaign and beyond: you can email at michael@rock4cf.com, phone Michael on 07903 016809 or leave comments on his website, www.rock4cf.com
The most valuable resource we have in CF is the members and Michael is determined that CF changes to reflect that.
Don't settle for the same old Conservative Future, let's return CF to its members, influence and power to a local level and make us the organisation that leads the Conservatives back into power.
CF Reunion Meal - Week 6
by Vicky on 12 Feb 2008
CF are having a reunion meal so all the oldies can come back and grace us with their presence. If you want to come along its on Saturday 23th February (Week 6). We’re heading off to the Spaghetti House at 8.30pm for a cheap and cheerful meal and no doubt some drinks afterwards.
If you want to come and see old faces, can you email or call Alex back on communications@exec.lancastercf.com or 07854036660. If you are interested in coming, we have to know whether you can come by next Thursday (20th) because we have time to finalise numbers, so get back to us before then.
