About Us
We are a group of young people aged between eighteen to thirty who believe in the
principles of freedom and opportunity for all. This ethos code is at the core of
all our social, political and fundraising activities. We have individual
personalities and different cultures within our branch. This is refreshing as
every person provides an insight into a political issue with a unique and
different view.
We have speakers, debates and socials and we are all members of the
Conservative Party. As a member of Lancaster Conservative Future, you are
automatically a member of the Conservative Party. Membership entitles you to
vote in Lancaster Conservative Future elections as well as Conservative Party
elections and also to attend functions as the Party Conference and the famous
'Winter Ball'.

The Lancaster Conservative Future Executive
This is the Lancaster CF Executive for the academic year 2009 / 2010.
All positions, except Executives Without Portfolio who are appointed, are
democratically elected by the Membership.
Electable positions go up for election before our Annual General Meeting
which is usually scheduled for after Easter. A General Meeting is usually held
in order to ratify co-option or hold a bye-election.
The job of Chair is to oversee all areas of Lancaster CF and to ensure the effective running of the branch. The Chair works closely with all members of the Executive, helping out where necessary and yet holding Executive members to account on behalf of the membership.
The Political position takes care of all areas of the society directly involved with politics; liaising with and arranging bookings of speakers for example.
Communications takes care of the role of image, internally and externally, ensuring effective communication between members, the Executive and external bodies.
The General Secretary's important role is to manage the administrative side of LCF. They create agendas, minute all meetings, control and regulate LCF's funds, liaise with benefactors and ensure our membership's money is well spent. They are a point of contact with all our members and the Executive.
Being in charge of socials means being in charge of the fun part of what makes up our society. It is this person's job to ensure good socials are organised, managing them thoroughly from A-Z, in order for our membership to fully enjoy the fun side of being a member.
